Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston seeks a dedicated Teacher to provide a college-forward curriculum and to drive student growth through rigorous, data-informed instruction. The role emphasizes 1:1 blended learning, strong family partnership, and regular assessment.

You will collaborate with fellow educators, participate in PD, and engage in weekly tutorials to support students beyond the regular day. A TX teaching certification or ACP path is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by THECB.
• Texas Educator Certification, or willing to join ACP to get certified.
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
• Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Developing rigorous lessons in your content area in 1:1 blended learning environments to reignite student potential and bridge gaps for marginalized communities.
• Setting ambitious goals with students and monitoring progress with frequent feedback.
• Building strong relationships with students and families through regular communication via phone, video, email, or district website.
• Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ development.
• Collaborating with co-planners to plan lessons and add resources as needed.
• Meeting deadlines for daily lesson plans, grades, and work samples.
• Working with a team of teachers and leaders to ensure consistency and accountability.
• Participating in Professional Development with content teams to improve learning.
• Conducting weekly tutorials outside of regular class to support students.
• Performing supervision duties on campus for student safety.
