Job summary

YES Prep in Houston is seeking a Teacher (26-27) for a 10-month term to develop rigorous lessons, drive student growth, and maintain strong family communication. The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, technology integration, and commitment to YES Prep's mission.

You will collaborate with coaches and content teams, meet deadlines, and participate in tutoring and supervision duties to support student success across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college.
• Texas Educator Certification or willingness to join ACP.
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
• Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology platforms.
• Commitment to YES Prep mission and core values.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities

• Develop rigorous lessons in your content area in 1:1 blended learning environments.
• Set ambitious goals with students and monitor progress with feedback.
• Track student growth and use data from coaches to create growth plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents via phone, video, email, or district website.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
• Collaborate with co-planner to plan lessons and resources.
• Meet deadlines for daily lesson plans, grades, and samples.
• Work with a team of teachers and leaders for consistency and accountability.
• Engage in weekly tutorials outside regular class days for extra instruction.
• Perform campus supervision duties for student safety.
