Chicago Public Schools is seeking a High School Scheduling Specialist to support districtwide scheduling, graduation processing, and course catalog administration. You will coordinate with schools, networks, ITS, and content teams to ensure policy alignment and data integrity.
The role involves training, data analysis, and maintaining timelines to support district priorities and effective scheduling across CPS high schools.
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is a district on the rise, serving over 325,000 students in 500 schools and employing over 45,000 people, most of them teachers. CPS has set ambitious goals to ensure that every student, in every school and every neighborhood, has access to a world-class learning experience that prepares each for success in college, career, and civic life. Aligned with our transformed philosophy, we are steadfastly focused on ensuring that the District provides resources equitably to support every student, every school, and every community. Six core values guide the work we do every day for our students — student-centered, whole child, equity, academic excellence, community partnership, and continuous learning. Each role in the district supports our vision that every student deserves a rigorous, joyful, and equitable learning experience.
The Instructional Systems and Supports (ISS) department envisions a school system where equitable grading, scheduling, and recovery practices empower every student to succeed. Through collaborative partnerships, data-informed decision-making, and consistent alignment with equitable policies, ISS builds and sustains systems that promote fairness, clarity, and opportunity for all learners. The department supports districtwide systems and initiatives related to grading, scheduling, promotion, graduation, credit recovery, and other instructional processes, working collaboratively with schools, networks, and central office partners to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement. ISS is led by the Executive Director of Instructional Support Services and includes teams and leaders responsible for advancing high-impact instructional systems and supports across the district.

Responsibilities include managing scheduling systems and data quality, leading training and technical support, overseeing graduation requests and related guidance, administering course catalog workflows and updates, coordinating with academic content teams, analyzing course usage data, and maintaining communications, timelines, and resources to support schools and district stakeholders. This is a full-time, exempt position that will be paid for time worked on a salary basis.
