Job summary

Grandview School District #200 is seeking a paraprofessional to assist in supervising and instructing students. Under the guidance of a certified teacher, you will support small groups or individual students within classrooms and other settings, including playgrounds, cafeterias and libraries.

Responsibilities include monitoring students and providing essential support to teachers while contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Job related experience is desired.
• Minimum qualifications: paraprofessional requirements (associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level+, or state paraeducator assessment).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting in the supervision and instruction of students
• Under the supervision of a certified teacher, working with individual and or/small groups of student in a classroom
• Monitoring students in a variety of different settings e.g. classroom, playground, cafeteria, library, etc.
• Providing support to the teacher

What We Offer

• Salary: $20.75 - $26.43 per hour (depending on experience)

What You’ll Need

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Job related experience is desired.
• Minimum qualifications: Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must meet the minimum requirement for a paraprofessional (Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university or have passed the state paraeducator assessment).

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
