Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking a Classroom Paraeducator at Chelmsford High School to support students in both general and special education settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with academics, social and emotional needs, implementing accommodations, and maintaining records under the direction of teachers and the special education team. Experience with high school students and appropriate supports is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or two years of college or para test.
• Knowledge of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of classroom procedures and record keeping.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Aptitude for high school level responsibilities.
• Ability to support students academically with high school curriculum.
• Experience with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
• Ability to support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally and socially.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
• Work with general education and special education classrooms to assist learning.
• Follow teachers' directions and implement accommodations and modifications.
• Assist with maintaining records and data collection as needed.
• Support students with toileting as needed.
