Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Paraeducator to work with students in general and special education settings. The role supports academic, social, emotional, and physical development, including 1:1 and small group assignments.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or passing of the para test.
• Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Elementary School level.
• Experience working with age appropriate students in a school setting.
• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting.
• Assist students with toileting as needed.
• Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
• Ability to collect data consistently.

Responsibilities

• Work with elementary school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.
• Position involves working 1:1, with small groups of students or supporting students within the general education inclusion classroom.
