Qualifications

• Associate's Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
• Knowledge of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of school classroom procedures, including preparation and maintenance of records.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for duties at the high school level.
• Ability to support students academically with high school curriculum.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
• Assist students with toileting as needed.
• Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
• Ability to collect data consistently if needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with high school students, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.
• Additional duties as required by the special education department or high school principal.
• Provide ongoing support and direction to students as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to implement accommodations.
