Qualifications

• 1–3 years of pediatrics or school-health experience.

• Graduate of an approved professional nursing program; MA RN in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate student health and impact on learning.
• Counsel students, parents and staff and plan health interventions.
• Lead identification of students with health needs affecting learning.
• Provide disease prevention and control programs.
• Coordinate school health services with other health disciplines.
• Coordinate with community health programs.
• Observe facilities and suggest health/safety improvements.
• Respond to health and social issues including abuse, nutrition, and teen pregnancy.
• Collaborate with community/state agencies and conduct mandated screenings.
• Maintain accurate health records and report incidents.
