Qualifications

• 3 years of supervised clinical nursing experience (1,500 hours over 3 years; not in a school setting).
• Knowledge of pediatrics nursing and adolescent development.
• Experience with first aid, immunizations, and communicable diseases.
• Knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations as they apply to schools and special education.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments for ill or injured students and staff; provide first aid, nursing care, intervention and referrals.
• Collaborate with health care providers, families, school staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal laws.
