Job summary

The Ashland School District 5 is seeking a Model United Nations Advisor for Ashland High School to guide and oversee the club in line with ASD standards.

You will work with students, administrators, and staff to plan activities, teach MUN skills, and ensure safety and compliance throughout the season.

This temporary position reports to the Principal and carries a district stipend.

Qualifications

• Background in a related field.
• Experience working with high school students in leadership, advisory, or extracurricular settings.
• Ability to mentor and guide students in leadership development and service learning.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to organize events and supervise students outside of school day and field trips.

Responsibilities

• Holds organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
• Teaches the skills necessary to participate and to be competitive in Model United Nations.
• Teaches the strategies necessary to participate and to be competitive in Model United Nations.
• Develops seasonal goals and objectives and daily plans.
• Develops lines of communication with students, staff, parents, officials, and booster clubs to promote Model United Nations.
• Maintains a record that includes information about equipment, supplies, student eligibility, and emergency medical information.
• Ensures adult supervision of students before and after meetings, competitions, and on bus trips.
• Provides for the safety and security of all students.
• Follows all specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and Ashland School District.
• Actively encourages student participation.
• Promotes the ethical value of students.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with the administration and community that enhances Model United Nations.
• Provides proper care, maintenance, and security of facilities, equipment, and supplies from the first day of the season until the cycle of responsibility is completed.
• Promotes concepts of sportsmanship.
• Develops positive health and safety standards for all student in the program.
• Attend work regularly and is punctual.
• Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
• While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
• Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
