Job summary

Ashland School District 5 is seeking a DECA Club Advisor for Ashland High School to support and oversee the DECA Club in alignment with ASD standards. You will work closely with students, school administration, and staff to ensure the club operates effectively.

The position reports to the Principal and is a temporary assignment with responsibilities including mentorship, event planning, and activity supervision, adhering to district policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Background in a related field.
• Experience working with high school students in leadership, advisory, or extracurricular settings.
• Ability to mentor and guide students in leadership development and service learning.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to organize events and supervise students outside of school day and field trips.

Responsibilities

• Holds organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
• Teaches the skills necessary to participate and to be competitive in DECA Club.
• Teaches the strategies necessary to participate and to be competitive in DECA Club.
• Develops seasonal goals and objectives and daily plans.
• Develops lines of communication with students, staff, parents, officials, and booster clubs to promote DECA Club.
• Maintains a record that includes information about equipment, supplies, student eligibility, and emergency medical information.
• Ensures adult supervision of students before and after meetings, competitions, and on bus trips.
• Provides for the safety and security of all students.
• Follows all specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and Ashland School District.
• Actively encourages student participation.
• Promotes the ethical value of students.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with the administration and community that enhances DECA Club.
• Provides proper care, maintenance, and security of facilities, equipment, and supplies from the first day of the season until the cycle of responsibility is completed.
• Promotes concepts of sportsmanship.
• Develops positive health and safety standards for all student in the program.
• Attend work regularly and is punctual.
• Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
• While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
• Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
