Job summary

Ashland-School-District is seeking an ASU Student Affinity Group Advisor at Ashland Middle School. This temporary position supports student affinity groups, coordinates meetings, and helps foster inclusive, safe spaces for students to discuss identity and related topics.

Ideal candidates will be prepared to collaborate with district and SOESD partners, manage attendance records, and assist with event planning and materials budgeting while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current employees of the Ashland School District are strongly preferred.
• Personally identify with the same affinity as students in the affinity group, or demonstrate strong allyship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate affinity group meetings to create a safe, inclusive space for students.
• Attend affinity group advisor orientation and quarterly collaboration meetings.
• Draft and send invitations for meetings and events, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Work with site administrator to schedule meetings, arrange venues or Zoom links, and track attendance.
• Assist with budgeting for snacks, materials, and activities and ensure compliance with district policies.
