Job summary

The Claremont School District is seeking a Math Teacher to teach at Stevens High School, reporting to the Building Principal. This full-time, exempt position runs up to 185 days per year.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and NH Educator Certification or eligibility for a site-based learning plan. The role focuses on algebra, geometry, data analysis, and proportional logic with ongoing assessment and pacing adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of State Mathematics Standards and frameworks and plan instruction around algebra, geometry, data analysis, and proportional reasoning.
• Design formative and summative assessments to evaluate procedural fluency and mathematical practices; monitor understanding and adjust pacing to address misconceptions.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and hold a NH Educator Certification or be eligible for a site-based learning plan, as demonstrated by a statement of eligibility.

Job Goals:

The teacher maintains up-to-date knowledge of State Mathematics Standards and frameworks, effectively planning instruction around critical conceptual topics such as algebraic reasoning, geometric relationships, data analysis, and proportional logic. They design relevant formative and summative assessments that evaluate both procedural fluency and essential mathematical practices (e.g., problem-solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical modeling), consistently monitoring student understanding to adjust pacing and address misconceptions.
