A leading educational institution in Ashton, Illinois is seeking a High School Math Teacher to instruct various math courses, including geometry and algebra 2. TITLE: High School Math Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Illinois Professional Educator Licensure for this position
REPORTS TO: Jr/Sr High School Principal
JOB GOAL: The HS Math Teacher will instruct courses for the math department.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Courses to teach: geometry, algebra 2
Potential courses to teach: applied math, transitional math, statistics, calculus, AP, or Dual Credit.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students' needs, including students with special needs.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, conducting research, and maintaining professional relationships with members of the business community.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, as well as student learning.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
Facilitates college and career readiness lessons and other intervention/enrichment activities.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and other supplies and equipment, and maintains inventory records.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contractual Agreement and Board Policy. *The 2025-2026 contract will be posted once contract negotiations are completed.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Base salary for teachers is $38,335.51 (plus TRS and health insurance benefits, as agreed upon by the AFC Education Association and the Board of Education).
Twelve (12) days per year sick leave.
Three (3) days' personal leave per year.

Per the Ashton-Franklin Center CUSD #275 Collective Bargaining Agreement. *The 2025-2026 contract will be posted once contract negotiations are completed this spring.
