Job summary

Thayer Academy’s Upper School seeks a student-focused collaborator to teach in its Upper School Math Department for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time academic year position includes instructing four Math classes and participating in the life of the school with students through advising, coaching, and/or supervising student activities.

Responsibilities include teaching Algebra/Geometry/Calculus, advising 8–10 students, fostering equity and inclusion, and potentially coaching athletics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher preferred in Education, Math, or related field.
• 3–5 years of high school teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach Computer Programming.

Responsibilities

• Teach four Math classes to 9th–12th graders (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Calculus).
• Advise a group of 8–10 students.
• Promote equity, inclusion, and belonging in and outside the classroom.
• Serve as an athletic coach for one or more seasons (preferred).
• Participate in ongoing professional development and growth opportunities.
