Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• NYS Certification in the appropriate content area.
• Dually licensed preferred; content area and ESL or Special Education.
• Two years of teaching experience in an urban school setting preferred.
• Ability to create an engaging, inclusive classroom for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Living Environments instruction covering ecosystems, life processes, and energy flow.
• Develop daily lessons aligned with CPCS curriculum in collaboration with leadership.
• Teach high school level science and lab classes using lectures, technology, and hands-on learning.
• Design and supervise weekly laboratory experiments and ensure safety.
• Assess coursework, submit grades, and communicate with parents on performance.
• Prepare students for state exams and meet school goals for competency.
• Maintain records of attendance, participation, and assessments.
• Participate in professional development and school programming as needed.
