Challenge Preparatory Charter School in Far Rockaway, NY is seeking an Earth Science Teacher to guide students in geology, environmental science, and energy interactions. You will design daily lessons aligned with CPCS curriculum and lead engaging lectures, labs, and field activities across grade levels.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS certification, a bachelor's degree (master's preferred), and experience teaching in urban settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• NYS Certification required in content area; dual licensure preferred (ESL or Special Education).
• Urban teaching experience is a plus and strongly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Science lessons aligned with CPCS curriculum across grade levels.
• Create engaging, hands-on science labs and integrate technology for evidence-based learning.
• Assess student progress, communicate with families, and monitor safety in labs.
• Collaborate with leadership and other teachers to support data-driven instruction.
• Participate in coaching and professional development programs.
• Support school programming during non-instructional time.
