Job summary

Beacon City School District is seeking a Teaching Assistant for anticipated placement at Beacon High School. The role supports a certified teacher by delivering instructional and follow-up activities directly to students.

Preferred candidates will have experience with students with disabilities, ability to collaborate with staff, and familiarity with NYS high school standards and diverse learner needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and administrators.
• Knowledge/experience in high school education preferred.
• Knowledge/experience in supporting diverse learner needs preferred.
• Familiar with NYS teaching standards and teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead small groups in exercises and reteach or reinforce concepts.
• Catch students up with the class after absences.
• Lead computer labs and supervise instructional activities.
• Assist students with social adjustment to the school setting.
• Provide instructional and support services directly to students under supervision of a certified teacher.
