Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision and monitoring of students in classrooms and other areas.
• Reinforce instruction, support interventions, facilitate learning activities, and meet student needs.
• Administer, score, and record tests and assessments as directed by the teacher.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment and instructional materials.
• Help students master equipment and materials assigned by the teacher.
• Distribute and collect workbooks and papers for instruction.
• Assist in planning and conducting field trips.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist in planning processes.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences unless directed otherwise.
• Keep displays and bulletin boards up to date.
• Assist with group activities like drill work, reading aloud, storytelling.
• Assist in the library or media center as needed.
• Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise tests and makeup work.
• Check attendance records and report issues to the teacher.
• Provide timely information about students to the teacher.
• Substitute for short durations as needed by the regular teacher.
• Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• May serve in approved capacities such as ISI Monitor or Lab Assistant.
• Maintain a safe, structured, positive learning environment.
