Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking an Instructional Coach for William Allen High School to support teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies. The Coach will demonstrate practices in classrooms, provide collaborative and one-on-one coaching, and align work with district priorities.

The role requires PA Instructional II certification, a Master’s degree (urban teaching experience preferred), and strong data analysis, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional II Certificate.
• Master's degree with 5 years urban teaching experience preferred.
• Experience using assessment results to plan effective instruction.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and classroom management.
• Experience working with targeted subgroups (IEPs, ELs, marginalized populations) preferred.
• Ability to share proven instructional approaches with teachers and administrators.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Model research-based instructional approaches and collaborate with teachers to meet diverse student needs.
• Observe teachers and provide ongoing feedback on instruction.
• Provide ongoing professional development to teachers.
• Assist with systemic design and implementation of Tier I instruction improvements.
• Collaborate on data analysis of student work and assessments.
• Assist teachers with integrating strategies, manipulatives, and technology.
• Collaborate with curriculum writing and resource adoption at building/district levels.
• Set goals with teachers and monitor progress toward those goals.
• Maintain focus on equity and inclusion in instructional planning and practice.
• Build strong relationships with faculty, staff, and administration.
• Support school improvement planning with measurable benchmarks.
• Collaborate with principals and SOIs regularly.
• Participate in professional development for coaches.
