Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a High School History Teacher for the 2016-17 school year at Power Center Academy High School in Memphis, TN. You will design lessons, develop assessments, and use data to drive student achievement while integrating technology and project-based learning.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of teaching experience, a social studies degree, and a TN license or ability to obtain one. Collaboration with a co-teacher in an inclusion setting is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years effective teaching experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or greater in Social Studies or related subject.
• Current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area or the ability to secure a TN teaching license.
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value add data.
• Belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Ability to use digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning.
• Secured undergraduate and/or graduate majors aligned to subject area certification.
• Ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly lesson plans and develop standards-based assessments.
• Analyze assessment data to drive results and create intervention plans.
• Effectively integrate technology in the classroom and implement project-based learning.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and support staff to meet student needs.
