Job summary

Mt. Spokane High School is seeking a Girls Basketball Assistant Coach for Fall 2026-27. The role involves leading practices from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., teaching sport techniques, ensuring safety, and coordinating with parents and the athletic department.

Applicants should be 19+ for assistant level, hold First Aid/CPR, and preferably a valid driver’s license. Expect responsibilities in scheduling, supervision, and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 19+ for Assistant Coach and 21+ for Head Coach.
• Must have current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Type II Driver’s License is preferred.
• Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development.
• Experience coaching at the secondary level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules, and safety.
• Develops and organizes a practice program; practice 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
• Promote the interscholastic program in harmony with the school.
• Ensure athletes complete required documentation and medical screenings.
• Communicate with parents regarding team rules and guidelines.
• Hold First Aid/CPR certifications and follow safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the District Administrators or Athletic Director.
