Job summary

Irving Independent School District is seeking a High School ELAR Teacher to deliver English Language Arts instruction at the high school level. This exempt position reports to the Principal and follows the Teacher Salary Schedule (187 Days).

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree, Texas teaching certificate for the subject, ESL certification, and demonstrated subject mastery. The teacher will design lessons, assess growth, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned.
• ESL Supplemental Certification.
• Demonstrated competency in core subject area and curriculum knowledge.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum plans for the assigned course.
• Present topics per Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies.
• Use data to plan instruction and accommodate diverse learner needs.
• Collaborate with staff and adapt instruction for IEPs and 504 plans.
• Supervise aides/volunteers and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents.
