Job summary

The coach will monitor eligibility, manage equipment, ensure safety, and coordinate with the Athletic Department and school leadership to uphold standards and support student athletes throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Previous basketball coaching experience desirable.
• Knowledge of basketball rules and ability to instruct players.
• CPR certification.
• Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport.
• Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores, stats, and examinations.
• Be available during the school year to provide guidance on scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship.
• Determine the athlete’s academic eligibility.
• Oversee safety conditions of the facility during play.
• Be present at each practice and all contests, supervising facilities and equipment.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship as directed by school leadership.
• Attend Athletic Department and school meetings related to the sport.
• Support fellow staff and establish resources for athletics.
• Supervise team members at home and away contests.
• Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment; manage unreturned items.
• Perform other duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director.
