Boys Basketball: Freshman Coach
Mission Statement: Everett Athletics strives to educate and inspire student athletes to be the BEST version of themselves!
Responsibilities:
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores of games, stats, incident reports, and physical examinations.
- Be available during the entire school year to lend assistance in guidance and counseling to team members, including scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship.
- Responsible for determining the athlete’s academic eligibility.
- Be responsible for information contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the EHS Student Handbook.
- Oversee the safety conditions of the facility where the sport is played at all times while students are present.
- Be present at each practice session and all contests of the coached sport, supervising the weight room, locker room, and shower areas until secured before and after practices, contests, and bus trips.
- Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship-like behavior, following standards set by the Principal and Athletic Department.
- Attend all Athletic Department and EHS meetings that directly involve the sport, including MIAA, GBL, Coaches Associations, and Athletic Awards meetings, staying informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations.
- Give personal support to all EHS staff, including school principal, assistant principals, and teachers.
- Establish communication channels with other adults to identify resources for enhancing EHS athletics.
- Supervise team members at home and away contests.
- Assist in distributing and collecting uniforms and equipment, holding responsibility for equipment not returned by the team within the designated time.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary by the head coach or athletic director for the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous basketball coaching experience is desirable.
- Previous experience at the high school, college, or both levels is desirable.
- Knowledge of basketball rules and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport.
- Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other community members.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and/or other MIAA requirements preferred.
Stipend Position - Salary based on contract (FY27)

Salary: upto $3,744.89 Stipend
