Qualifications

• Requires 48 college credit hours or passing ParaPro test.
• Six months of related experience working with elementary age children, behavior management, and/or coaching.

Responsibilities

• Assist in College and Career readiness.
• Direct instructional intervention and behavior services support for students.
• Support teacher instructional interventions in the classroom and work with the Positive Behavior Support Program.
• Student data entry and monitoring using data systems.
• Aid counselors with the student registration process.
• Organize SEOP files for counselor’s use.
• Answer telephones, greet the public and assist guidance secretaries as needed.
• Guide students through computer generated career exploration assessment.
• Maintain various data banks and publish lists of information.
• Schedule students or make changes under the direction of a counselor.
• Schedule appointments and mails information as requested.
• Assist teachers in working one-on-one with students in reading, math, science, etc.
• Assist the bilingual teacher in planning lessons; use English and Spanish in the classroom.
• Assist in language assessment and evaluation of students.
