Job Description

General Education High focuses on K12-powered virtual high schools with 9-12 programs offering core, comprehensive, credit recovery, honors, and Advanced Placement online courses and a wide variety of electives. Responsible for relationship building with families, students, and learning coaches to ensure that all students are progressing successfully through the program. Bachelor’s degree, 0-1 year of related professional experience.

Certificates and Licenses

Appropriate current Missouri High School Art Certification OR state-specific teaching license OR proof of application.

Residency Requirement

• Missouri Residents Preferred
• Will consider residents of Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
• Must be able to obtain a Missouri teaching license and attend in-person events as planned, including testing, professional development, and other school-related events.

Position Overview

The High School Art Teacher is a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content online. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. They monitor student progress through K12’s learning management system and work closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches. Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally for school functions.

Work Environment & Compensation

This is a full-time remote position requiring about 40+ hours per week, working independently during typical school hours. Compensation ranges from approximately $37,866 to $56,798 annually, based on experience, location, and qualifications. Benefits include health options, retirement contributions, and paid time off.

Essential Functions

• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Personalize learning for all students.
• Differentiate instruction based on mastery levels.
• Maintain grade books and monitor student progress.
• Prepare students for standardized tests.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly.
• Support learning coaches with instructional issues and troubleshooting.
• Travel approximately once per month for professional development and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to pass background checks

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with the target age group and online platforms.
• Ability to analyze student data and collaborate with colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
