2025 Summer School English Language Arts Teacher (Cherry Elementary Campus - English and/or French Speakers)

Join us as a 2025 Summer School English Language Arts Teacher at Académie Lafayette.

Position Details

This is a full-time summer position with orientation starting June 5th, and summer school running from June 9th to July 9th. Note that there is no pay on June 19th and July 4th. The position is exempt under the U.S. Department of Labor.

Responsibilities
  • Follow curriculum guidelines to plan engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in meetings.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment respecting diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning climate.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Participate in scheduled field trips and extracurricular activities.
  • Create a literacy-rich environment promoting inquiry and critical thinking.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Prepare substitute plans and coordinate with substitutes as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and valid or eligible Missouri Teaching Certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • French speakers are preferred but not required.
  • Experience with immersion education is a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • Pass a state and federal fingerprint background check through MACHS.
  • Register with the Family Care Safety Registry.
  • Note: No visa sponsorship is available for summer positions.
