Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate for the subject/level assigned to Agriculture preferred.
• Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources: Grades 6-12.
• Agricultural Science and Technology: Grades 6-12.
• Any vocational agriculture certificate.
• This position may require additional training or meeting attendance outside of the instructional day.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Provide students with instruction on industry standard software and provide opportunities for students to earn industry certifications.
• Access and use available data to plan and implement instructional/learning strategies reflecting individual needs (gifted, ESL, 504, etc.).
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed according to IEPs.
• Cooperate with staff in planning and implementing instructional goals.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers.
• Use appropriate technologies to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Participate in program Advisory Board.
• Train students in pet handling, grooming, and customer service.
• Sponsor a CTE student organization and competitions.
• Assist with daily operations of a student-led pet care enterprise.
• Help students obtain industry-recognized certifications.
