Job summary

IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Animal Science Teacher to lead the Animal Science program, applying biology and life sciences to real-world animal care and research in labs or field settings. The role includes operating a school enterprise and preparing students for industry-recognized certifications.

The teacher will support student growth, manage classroom expectations, and collaborate with Career and Technical Education staff to align with TEA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with eligible Texas teaching certificate.
• Experience or training in agriculture education and CTE programs.
• Ability to teach Animal Science with emphasis on biology and life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum for Animal Science program.
• Provide instruction on industry-standard software and opportunities for certifications.
• Use data to plan strategies accommodating diverse learners.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Manage classroom environment and student behavior per district policies.
• Supervise student enterprise operations and sponsor CTE activities
