Job summary

Castle High School seeks an Academic Team Coach to support high school students in building study skills, organization, time management, and academic confidence. Two positions are available, focusing on goal setting and effective learning strategies across subjects.

You will meet weekly in small groups from January to April, teaching note-taking, test prep, and organization techniques while tracking progress and communicating with teachers, counselors, and parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred (education, counseling, or related field).
• Experience working with high school students in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or teaching roles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with teens.
• Familiarity with academic support strategies and secondary curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet once a week in small groups with students from January to April.
• Teach and reinforce study skills, note-taking, test preparation, and organization techniques.
• Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and parents.
• Motivate students and help them develop self-advocacy and growth-mindset habits.
• Maintain accurate records of sessions and student goals.
• Support competitions and events as needed, including local and Purdue University in-state opportunities.
