Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a skilled sonographer to independently operate high-risk obstetric ultrasound equipment and perform detailed diagnostic exam on high-risk pregnancies, contributing to safety and patient experience in a perinatal setting.

Requirements include ARDMS certification, NT certification within 12 months, a graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, and 3 years of high-risk OB experience; BLS and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing high-risk OB ultrasound examinations.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients and staff.
• Active ARDMS certification or registry eligible; NT certification within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patients’ experience.
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team using established handoff procedures.
• Performs clinical assessment and detailed diagnostic sonography examinations based on physician concerns.
• Uses independent judgment to differentiate normal from pathologic findings.
• Performs NT studies and coordinates lab operations with department supervisor.
