Job summary

UNLV Health invites a Sonographer I to operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment for OB/MFM exams, including high-risk obstetrics, nuchal translucency, and fetal anatomy surveys. You will generate reports, document data, and collaborate with MFM providers, nurses, and OB/GYN teams.

Requirements include an accredited sonography program and ARDMS OB certification, with licensure within 1 year. A strong emphasis on patient safety, QA, and continuing education is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Certification from an accredited Sonography program.
• ARDMS OB certification required; licensure within 1 year of hire.
• Active pursuit of FMF NT, CLEAR, and FE certifications within 5 years.
• Minimum of one year of Sonographer experience, preferably in MFM.
• BLS/CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review history for scheduled exams.
• Explain procedures and address patient questions; refer to physicians as needed.
• Perform indicated OB ultrasound exams, including high-risk assessments.
• Generate reports and document data in the EMR; archive images.
• Maintain QA and ensure equipment operates at acceptable levels.
• Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and nursing staff to optimize care.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and performance.
