Job summary

URI is seeking an Intensive Case Manager in Bronx, NY to provide direct services to victims of domestic and gender-based violence with complex needs at the Family Justice Center. The role emphasizes advocacy, safety planning, and collaboration with partners to connect clients with essential services.

The candidate will maintain confidential records, support court and police interactions as needed, and participate in ongoing training to strengthen client support and program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Associate degree and 3-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably with survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential case management services to high-risk clients with complex cases, including safety planning and risk assessment.
• Provide short-term psychoeducational counseling to help clients mitigate trauma and identify goals.
• Navigate the criminal justice system, social services, and other systems for clients.
• Assist clients in navigating the family court system, including filing a family offense petition.
• Provide ongoing advocacy to clients with police, prosecutors, housing, shelters, schools, and public assistance.
• Offer emergency practical assistance such as transportation, food vouchers, and financial help.
• Refer clients to onsite and offsite partners for legal, social, mental health, and related services.
• Maintain digital records of services and submit monthly reports.
• Adhere to confidentiality and data protection policies.
• Collaborate with onsite partner agencies to streamline service delivery.
