BXP, Inc. in New York seeks a skilled Building Engineer to maintain and operate complex building systems in multiple assigned properties.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-systems equipment, and support tenant services daily. This on-site role requires five years of high-rise experience, valid licenses, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of operational experience in a high rise office building.
• Possess or obtain licenses required by code, including NYCFD Refrigeration License and Standpipe/Sprinkler permits.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with a structured PM program and ability to read schematics.

Responsabilités

• Maintain, repair and ensure efficient operation of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Install, fabricate and repair complex mechanical/electrical equipment with supervision as needed.
• Test and inspect fire suppression and alarm systems; support Fire Safety Director and Property Manager.
• Plan work, obtain tools/equipment, complete work orders and paperwork promptly.
• Keep shop and equipment rooms clean, safe and organized; maintain logs of daily activities.
• Monitor contractors, inspect work and generate deficiency lists.
• Respond to tenant requests/complaints and after-hours emergencies to ensure building coverage.
