Job summary

FirstService Residential in San Francisco seeks a Building Engineer to maintain and repair common areas across the community. You will oversee contractors and coordinate safe, efficient operation of building systems including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire safety.

The role requires journeyman-level maintenance skills, strong communication with residents, vendors, and leadership, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Experience maintaining building systems and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee licensed contractors for major maintenance, repairs and replacements.
• Perform journeyman maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire safety systems.
• Create, track and close maintenance tasks in the electronic work order system.
• Communicate with GM, vendors, residents and board members.
• Maintain safety, site cleanliness and proper tool/equipment condition.
