Job summary

Consolidated Metco in Clackamas, OR is hiring an aluminum die casting operator to run high-pressure casting equipment for automotive and truck parts. You will set dies, tune process parameters, and maintain safe production flow on a 40-hour week with swing or grave shifts and premiums.

Starting pay is $24.04/hour for 90 days, rising to $24.61/hour thereafter. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), and gym reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to position die sections into the machine and bolt sections in place.
• Adjust ram stroke and tune machine parameters for on-spec parts.
• Perform safety checks and correct hazards before operation to ensure safe startup.
• Hook up die cooling water and preheat die sections with an electric heater.
• Regulate cooling flow and machine speed based on part design and material type.
• Configure air and spray systems to clear metal fragments and lubricate the die cavity.
• Ladling molten metal into the machine chamber with automatic equipment.
• Maintain metal level and temperature in the holding furnace throughout the shift.
• Understand process parameters, measure them accurately, and adjust for compliance.

Step into a day running high-pressure aluminum die casting

You’ll operate advanced high-pressure aluminum die cast machines to produce precision parts for the automotive and on-highway truck sectors. From setting dies to fine-tuning process parameters, you’ll keep production running safely and smoothly.

Where you’ll work

Our Clackamas, OR facility sits just off I-205 — an easy commute from Sandy, Estacada, Clackamas, or Milwaukie.

Your shift options and pay

• Swing: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (+$1.25/hour premium)
• Grave: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM (+$2.00/hour premium)
• Starting pay: $24.04/hour for the first 90 days, then $24.61/hour
• Schedule: 40-hour work week

What you’ll master on the floor

• Using an overhead crane to position specified die sections into the machine
