Job summary

North American Construction Group is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) to join a remote mining site team in the Acheson area. You will perform repairs and rebuilds on mining equipment, work with supervision and safety teams, and mentor apprentices.

The role offers a gross rate of up to $135/hour with room for growth. The position includes a 7x7, 12-hour shift pattern, overtime after 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week, and benefits such as vacation pay, night shift premium, boot

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years’ experience post Journeyman on large haul trucks, dozers, graders and excavators.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Professional work behaviours and commitment to continuous learning.
Basic knowledge of computer applications and safety procedures.
Demonstrated leadership in daily work interactions.

Responsibilities

Complete repairs and rebuilds on mining equipment (Cat D8–D11, 777–797, 16–24 graders, Hitachi and Komatsu).
Collaborate with supervision, planning and safety teams.
Perform preventative maintenance, component changes and rebuilds.
Inspect equipment for faults and verify repair quality to manufacturer specs.
Develop work scopes and parts lists; follow schedules and complete work orders.
Mentor apprentices and crew, enforcing NACG safety rules.
