Job Description
We are looking to add safety‑minded mechanics to our dedicated team and will provide the training necessary to work safely in the mining environment.
The Day to Day
- Performs mechanical repairs, installations, inspections and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment to provide continuous operation of vehicles and production equipment
- Corrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
- Completes machine adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors oil systems, control linkages, clutches and traction units
- Operates mining equipment and machinery as well as shop equipment.
- Learn and follow safety rules, report hazards, and take responsibility for your actions.
- Demonstrate excellent listening and strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Strive to make safety the foundation to everything you do and offer suggestions for improvement when you see them.
Is this you?
- Proficient troubleshooting and repair knowledge of heavy mining/construction equipment systems including electrical, hydraulic, A/C, powertrain and drive systems.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems including Word, Excel, Outlook; experience in SAP, CAT SIS, Cummins Insights preferred.
- Must comply with state and federal health and safety regulations along with Company policies and procedures.
- Able to drive a motor vehicle and must possess a valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience.
- Able to read, write, and possess basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting requirements.
- Reliable, consistent work history.
Hourly Rate and Benefits
This position has multiple levels (level 1 to level 6). The hourly rate offered for this overtime‑eligible role will depend on the level, with a range of $31.93 (Tech 1) – $47.61 (Tech 6), tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The specific level and hourly rate offered to the successful candidate will be based on job‑related education, training, and/or experience.
