Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine's Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core seeks a knowledgeable Flow Cytometry Specialist to coordinate high parameter cytometry, imaging and spectral cytometers. Responsibilities include QA/QC, troubleshooting with service engineers, SOP development, and cross-training on multiparametric analyzers and sorters.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience in cytometry or a related lab.
  • Desirable: Master's degree and ASCP/BOC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cytometers for data acquisition, analysis, and sorting with QA/QC.
  • Instruct and guide staff and core users on experiments and analysis.
  • Monitor equipment usage, reagents, and billing records.
  • Organize educational events and prepare teaching materials.
  • Handle specimens from bone marrow, blood, and tissues; analyze data.
