Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Law Clerk II to support the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC. The role involves performing litigation support duties, complex legal research, and drafting legal documents under supervision.

The position requires a law degree or current enrollment in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least two years of study, plus 2+ years of related experience and strong communication skills. A Public Trust clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires law degree or currently attending ABA‑accredited law school with 2 years of study.
• Requires 2+ years of progressive litigation support experience and strong client/attorney interaction skills.
• Familiarity with federal/state court systems, legal research procedures and resources.
• Hands‑on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and document review/file management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research under supervision.
• Prepare draft motions, briefs, and memoranda of law.
• Review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Assist attorneys through all phases of litigation.
• Lead on larger projects or work as part of a team.
• Interface with trial attorneys, experts, and client staff.
