Job summary

KBR's High Energy Laser Facility Manager leads full-spectrum operations across laboratories, production areas, and test facilities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient performance of HEL programs. The role collaborates across engineering, EHS, security, and program leadership to maintain readiness and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years managing technical facilities.
• Experience in facility ops, maintenance programs, and infra projects.
• Knowledge of electrical power, HVAC, cooling systems, and utilities.
• Experience budgeting, contracts, and vendor management.
• Familiarity with OSHA, environmental safety regulations, and risk mgmt.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 or equivalent QMS.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and contractor staff.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of facilities supporting HEL development, integration, production and testing.
• Lead facility planning, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure readiness of laboratories, integration facilities, production spaces and test areas.
• Oversee facility systems including electrical, backup power, HVAC, cooling and lab infra.
• Coordinate facility requirements to support engineering, manufacturing, integration and test.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for facility equipment.
• Ensure compliance with laser safety, OSHA, environmental, security and quality.
• Support safety programs, emergency response planning and hazard mitigation.
• Coordinate facility modifications, construction projects and contractor activities.
• Develop and manage budgets, capital investments and resources.
• Support audits, inspections, customer visits, security reviews and regulatory assessments.
• Collaborate with program managers to identify facility requirements for current and future programs.
• Manage access controls, security coordination for classified activities.
• Establish facility metrics related to safety, utilization and performance.
• Lead facility personnel, contractors and support staff.
• Ensure AS9100 compliance and continuous improvement activities.
• Support facility expansion, modernization and scalability.
