Job summary
KBR is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design, develop, and integrate complex systems for high energy laser weapon platforms. You will draft details, collaborate with cross‑functional engineers, and ensure manufacturing and operational readiness.
The role requires strong CAD proficiency and a DoD‑level security clearance potential. Responsibilities include coordinating drafting projects, improving designs, and producing manuals while meeting regulatory and quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
- Extensive experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Interpret general designs and complete details.
- Coordinate and plan large drafting projects.
- Collaborate with systems, mechanical, electrical engineers, and leadership.
- Calculate dimensions and weight requirements; describe production methods.
- Create detailed CAD designs and diagrams; review rough sketches with the team.
- Identify design issues and redesign for functionality and compliance.
- Prepare operation manuals for existing products.
