Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a high complexity testing personnel under CLIA-88 to accession and gross examine tissue specimens under the Medical Director of Pathology. The role requires completing a CLIA-standard training program and a strong adherence to safety and QA procedures.

Responsibilities include gross dissection, dictation, specimen processing, and preparing tissues for ancillary testing, with on-site work and strict regulatory compliance in a clinical laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA-88 high complexity testing personnel requirements.
• Training program per CLIA standards must be completed.
• Experience in accessioning and gross examination workflows.

Responsibilities

• Accession and prepare tissue specimens for gross examination.
• Perform gross dissections of high complexity and smaller surgical/biopsy cases.
• Perform gross dictations as per department protocol.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of tissues and supplies.
• Ensure hazardous waste handling per procedures and safety standards.
• Stay current with procedural manuals and QA standards.

Education

Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

60 semester hours with 24 SH MLS courses or 24 SH science with 6 SH chemistry, 6 SH biology and 12 SH related lab courses
