Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, seeks a registered nurse for the 6A Stepdown Unit. The nurse will provide care for high-acuity patients, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and support patient education from admission through discharge.

Required PA RN licensure (or eNLC), CPR certification, and at least 1 year of general nursing experience; a year on the specific unit is preferred. Clearances and HIPAA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure (or multi-state licensure via the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact).
• CPR certification.
• One (1) year general nursing experience required.
• One (1) year on specific unit preferred.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• HIPAA compliance and adherence to privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population using the nursing process.
• Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages patient care delivery by the care team.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
