Job summary

Clean Harbors in Sanford, FL is seeking a Household Hazard Waste Technician I to support CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal operations. The role emphasizes safety, proper waste packaging, and regulatory compliance on customer sites across North America.

$20/hour with BOE, full benefits after 30 days, and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work area, assisting with spill response, operating forklifts safely, and ensuring container integrity.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions while performing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to interface with customers in a professional manner.
  • Able to perform physical functions as required by the job.
  • Will successfully complete a background check, drug test, and a physical if position requires it.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is a top priority and comply with all safety policies.
  • Properly package waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and participate in spill response as needed.
  • Attend compliance and safety meetings and inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Safe operation of forklifts and loading/unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
  • Follow all regulatory requirements and company guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner
  • Participate in spill response on customer’s site as needed
  • Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner
  • Safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to interface with customers
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s license
