Clean Harbors in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Household Hazardous Waste Technician I to support the CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal business. You will help set up re-use products, offload waste, and segregate chemicals while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

The schedule runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with shifts from 0600 to 1400 on M/W/F and 0600 to 1500 on Saturday. The pay range is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience, and full benefits start after 30

• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
• Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner
• Participate in spill response on customer’s site as needed
• Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
• Operate forklift in a safe manner
• Safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
• Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Tasks

• Set up tables with re-use products and set up hotzone (containers, build new containers)
• Offloading waste from vehicles such as cleaners, paint (5G heavy buckets), batteries, etc.
• Segregate chemicals into proper containers
• Clean up hotzone (close up containers & store)
• Able to prioritize safety procedures and personal protection equipment
• Monthly company training modules

Pay range: $20.00 - $22.00 based on experience.
