Job summary

Clean Harbors in Anaheim, CA seeks a Hazardous Waste Technician I to support the CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal operations. This on-site role offers sunrise shifts and hands-on waste handling in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities emphasize safety, proper packaging, site cleanliness, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits after eligibility. Training is provided.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions in a safety‑critical environment.
  • Ability to interface with customers and work in field sites.
  • Perform physical functions as required by the job.
  • Willingness to complete a background check, drug test and physical as part of position requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and ensure safe work practices.
  • Package waste properly to maximize efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and assist on customer sites as needed.
  • Participate in spill response and comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance; operate forklifts safely.
  • Support waste sampling and profiling; follow DOT and local regulations.

Clean Harbors in Location is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician I to support the CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal business.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner
  • Participate in spill response on customer’s site as needed
  • Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Operate forklift in a safe mannerSafe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to interface with customers
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s license
