Urban Health Plan is seeking a Call Center Associate I to support our Bronx-based operations with a fully remote role that requires periodic onsite training in the Bronx, NY. The position handles high-volume calls, schedules medical appointments, and ensures HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Answer high volume telephone calls and schedule medical appointments.
• Relay messages according to organization standards and respond to patient requests/concerns.
• Refer clinical questions to medical providers and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA/PHI).
• Update patient demographic information and verify insurance when necessary.
• Complete rescheduling, cancellations, and verification of appointments as needed.
• Demonstrate WE CARE performance standards in daily duties.

Individuals selected will have a start date in January of 2027 and/or network for opportunities available in 2027.Position Summary:The Call Center Associate I will join our Bronx-Based call center team to support the operations of our various health centers. The incumbent must have the drive and ambition to work effectively in a fast paced and service-driven team. We are seeking customer service professionals with a passion for community-based health care. Although remote, position requires some monthly onsite needs including training and meetings that are held in the Bronx- with this in mind, applicants must reside locally in the New York City market.Answers high volume telephone calls, schedules medical appointments, and relays messages according to the organization communication standards.Responds to and resolves patient requests/concerns.Refers clinical questions to medical providers.Ensures confidentiality at all times in compliance with HIPAA and PHI guidelines.Update existing patient demographic information.Confirms insurance when necessary.Completes rescheduling, canceling, and/or verifying patient's appointments as needed.Exhibits "WE CARE" performance standards in accordance with Urban Health Plan's Operating Credo.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:This position is a fully remote role with some training and meetings held onsite in the Bronx, NY.
