Urban Health Plan in Bronx, NY is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Associate to safeguard and manage Electronic Health Records (EHR). You will ensure authorized access, maintain records, and support auditors while handling requests for medical information in compliance with HIPAA and NY law.

The role is fully onsite in Bronx, NY, with a 40-hour work week and comprehensive benefits. Starting date January 2027 or earlier as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring Health Information Management (HIM) Associates to join our HIM Department at 953 Southern Blvd. The HIM Associate oversees the protection and management of the information in the Electric Health Record (EHR). This role is responsible for ensuring that only authorized people access and/or receive requested information within a specified timeframe and promotes the integrity of the information scanned into the EHR. HIM Patients services (print and deliver information, assist with authorization completion)Fax, mail, and email requested medical recordsMaintain computerized record management system to store and process data for medical and onsite Auditors' requests.Scan information into Electronic Health Record (EHR) as per established standards.*Review and processes all requests for medical information to ensure HIPPA and New York State Laws compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma requiredEntry level role, no previous experience required.Bilingual English/Spanish required.Must have excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.Understanding of standard office procedures.

Compensation:

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

This position is a fully onsite role based in Bronx, NY. Candidates must have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be comfortable with working within medical records office as well as placement within our health centers to cover across multiple locations.
